Jade Strayer

Jade is a young creator from the Twin Cities whose work is
driven by self-expression and joy through personal style. She has always dressed not to
Impress others, but to express her individuality. Even when very young, she would always pick her own outfits and she was the little girl
on the soccer team wearing a colorful skirt rather than basic shorts. It wasn’t long before
she was experimenting with fabric scraps to create unique clothes for herself and even
her dog. By middle school, she knew her life’s path was fashion design.
Drawing inspiration from life’s colorful and playful moments, as well as Japanese cute-
culture, urban street wear and also the vintage clothes she finds in her thrift-store
workplace, Jade’s designs center around bright colors, bold concepts, and a sense of
fun. She works with all types of materials for clothing, even vinyl, and enjoys creating
unique accessories as well.
At the core of Jade’s work is the belief that fashion should be freeing. She encourages
people to break free from societal expectations to wear what makes them happy and
enables them to express themselves confidently, without worrying about judgment from
others.
